#frapalymo Day 8 – Lazy Sunday Morning

Lazy Sunday Morning

Birdsong resonates along
The early dawn hours
Light filters through the window
Rays of sunlight twinkling
Through bright green leaves
Co-mingled sighs
Whisper through the room
Eyes flutter open and close again
We snuggle deeper under the covers
Stretching out each tender moment
Lazy Sunday morning

#frapalymo is hosted by @FrauPaulchen and is translated by Bee on her blog Just Fooling Around with Bee. Todays’ prompt is the title of the poem. I suppose that isn’t very creative of me, but by the time I was able to sit and write this one, I was completely exhausted. I was hoping to spend more time on this one, but this Sunday was a busy one.

Song Lyric Sunday – Sunday Morning by Maroon 5

This song seems to fit with the day since it’s all about Sunday morning. Sunday mornings, to me, are about sleeping in and snuggling with the boyfriend under the covers. There is something so rejuvenating about it that I miss it when it doesn’t happen.

I’m not sure there’s a “story” around this song, especially since the video is just a bunch of people singing karoake. But I like to think this song is just about holding the ones you love close and enjoying Sunday morning for what it can offer – a chance to be in the moment with someone you love. I have to say, that even if you don’t have someone to snuggle with, just lazing around on a Sunday morning by yourself is pretty damn great just by itself.

I have always loved Maroon 5. We actually saw them open for Matchbox Twenty long before they actually hit it big and I spent months looking for their song on the radio before it finally happened. Adam Levine’s voice is masterful in its range and I think he’s pretty nice to look at too.

I hope you enjoy this installment of Song Lyric Sunday. Feel free to read the rules below and post your own so we can all share amazing music together.

Sunday Morning by Maroon 5
Lyrics found at AZ Lyrics

Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you
That someday it would lead me back to you

That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave

Fingers trace your every outline
Paint a picture with my hands
Back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change the weather still together when it ends

That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave

But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
Sunday morning rain is falling and I’m calling out to you
Singing someday it’ll bring me back to you
Find a way to bring myself back home to you

May not know

That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
Driving slow

Oh, yeah, yeah…

There is a flower in your hair.
I’m a flower in your hair.

Oh, yeah, yeah, oh
