Song Lyric Sunday and #LoIsInDaBl Day 14 – Like I’m Gonna Lose You by Meghan Trainor

We are celebrating love here on the blog for Song Lyric Sunday and I went with a song that seems like the opposite of love from the title, but it’s actually all about love. It’s about embracing this moment right now because you never know when the one you love will be gone.

I’m going a little more main stream this week, so I’d be surprised if you haven’t heard this song since it’s one that is getting overplayed right now. Don’t you hate it when radio stations do that? I do, but then there are people who listen to the same song on repeat because they love it so much, so maybe it isn’t all that weird.

Anyway, here is my Song Lyric Sunday pick for this week. Please feel free to read the “rules” below and join in with one of your own.

Favorite Line: “I’ll make the most of the minutes and love with no regrets.”

Like I’m Gonna Lose You by Meghan Trainor (featuring John Legend)
Written by Meghan Trainor, Justin Weaver and Caitlyn Smith
Lyrics found at AZ Lyrics

I found myself dreaming
In silver and gold
Like a scene from a movie
That every broken heart knows we were walking on moonlight
And you pulled me close
Split second and you disappeared and then I was all alone

I woke up in tears
With you by my side
A breath of relief
And I realized
No, we’re not promised tomorrow

So I’m gonna love you
Like I’m gonna lose you
I’m gonna hold you
Like I’m saying goodbye wherever we’re standing
I won’t take you for granted ’cause we’ll never know when
When we’ll run out of time so I’m gonna love you
Like I’m gonna lose you
I’m gonna love you like I’m gonna lose you

In the blink of an eye
Just a whisper of smoke
You could lose everything
The truth is you never know

So I’ll kiss you longer baby
Any chance that I get
I’ll make the most of the minutes and love with no regrets

Let’s take our time
To say what we want
Use what we got
Before it’s all gone
‘Cause no, we’re not promised tomorrow

So I’m gonna love you
Like I’m gonna lose you
I’m gonna hold you
Like I’m saying goodbye wherever we’re standing
I won’t take you for granted ’cause we’ll never know when
When we’ll run out of time so I’m gonna love you
Like I’m gonna lose you
I’m gonna love you like I’m gonna lose you

I’m gonna love you
Like I’m gonna lose you
I’m gonna hold you
Like I’m saying goodbye wherever we’re standing
I won’t take you for granted ’cause we’ll never know when
When we’ll run out of time so I’m gonna love you
Like I’m gonna lose you
I’m gonna love you like I’m gonna lose you

Song Lyric Sunday and #LoIsInDaBl Day 7 – Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran

This week it’s all about love songs. I’ve posted a few of my absolute favorites, so this one was a bit more difficult for me. But I ended up listening to my favorite playlist on the way to work the other day, and this song came on.

I love singer-songwriters, and I appreciate the simplicity of Ed Sheeran. He also has a fantastic voice. The lyrics to this song just make me smile and after watching the video, that made me smile too. I really do love the thought of growing old with my boyfriend. He’s my safe place, my everything and I can’t imagine my life without him. “We found love right where we are.”

My other favorite line is “Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love?” Such a brilliant lyric.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Thinking Out Loud performed by Ed Sheeran
Lyrics written by Ed Sheeran
Lyrics found at AZ Lyrics

When your legs don’t work like they used to before
And I can’t sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love?
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks?

And, darling, I will be loving you ’til we’re 70
And, baby, my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Well, me—I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am

So, honey, now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are

When my hair’s all but gone and my memory fades
And the crowds don’t remember my name
When my hands don’t play the strings the same way (mmm…)
I know you will still love me the same

‘Cause, honey, your soul could never grow old, it’s evergreen
And, baby, your smile’s forever in my mind and memory
I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe it’s all part of a plan
Well, I’ll just keep on making the same mistakes
Hoping that you’ll understand

That, baby, now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
Thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are (oh, oh)

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, lo-ud

So, baby, now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Oh, darling, place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
But maybe we found love right where we are
Oh, baby, we found love right where we are
And we found love right where we are

Song Lyric Sunday – 100 Years by Five For Fighting

I have my sister to thank for this weeks choice. I was at her house all afternoon and they constantly have music playing. Most of the time it’s her husband’s music, but every once in a while, some of her stuff will play. This particular song came on and my first comment was, “I love this song!”

Sometimes years can go by without hearing a song, but then it comes on the radio or you hear it at a friend’s house and it’s like coming home. I also think the lyrics are rather fitting with the new baby in my life and the realization that time flies by so fast. There’s no way to hold on to it, so the best thing we can do is enjoy ever single moment to it’s fullest.

I watched the video, and I’m not going to lie… it made me cry.

I hope you enjoy this week’s Song Lyric Sunday. Feel free to read the “rules” below and join in with one of your own.

100 Years by Five For Fighting
Lyrics found at AZ Lyrics

I’m 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I’m just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

I’m 22 for a moment
And she feels better than ever
And we’re on fire
Making our way back from Mars

15 there’s still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live

I’m 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I’m a “they”
A kid on the way, babe.
A family on my mind

I’m 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I’m heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life

15 there’s still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose yourself
Within a morning star

15 I’m all right with you
15, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live

Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We’re moving on…

I’m 99 for a moment
And dying for just another moment
And I’m just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

15 there’s still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you’re on your way
Every day’s a new day…

15 there’s still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live

Song Lyric Sunday – The Weary Kind by Ryan Bingham

Some weeks I have the song picked out days in advance. This week, I had no idea what I was going to do. I’m not even sure what made me think of this song except that I was thinking about my boyfriend and how much has happened since we first met almost three years ago.

I didn’t know much about the song except that it was a song in the movie Crazy Heart. It’s a great movie, by the way. Sad, but good. I didn’t know that the song won the Academy Award for best song written for a motion picture, or that Jeff Bridges won the Academy Award for best actor. I’m pretty sure the boyfriend mentioned it at some point, but I must have forgotten.

I’m going to dedicate this one to my love. It’s one of his favorite songs and I do believe he felt like he had lived the life described in the song. I am more grateful every day that he decided to “pick up your crazy heart and give it one more try”.

I hope you enjoy this weeks choice for Song Lyric Sunday. Feel free to read the “rules” below and join in with one of your own.

The Weary Kind by Ryan Bingham
Music found at AZ Lyrics

Your heart’s on the loose
You rolled them seven’s with nothing to lose
This ain’t no place for the weary kind

You called all your shots
Shootin’ 8 ball at the corner truck stop
Somehow this don’t feel like home anymore

And this ain’t no place for the weary kind
This ain’t no place to lose your mind
This ain’t no place to fall behind
Pick up your crazy heart and give it one more try

Your body aches
Playin’ your guitar, sweating out the hate
The days and the nights all feel the same

Whiskey has been
A thorn in your side, it doesn’t forget
The highway that calls for your heart inside

And this ain’t no place for the weary kind
This ain’t no place to lose your mind
This ain’t no place to fall behind
Pick up your crazy heart and give it one more try

Your lover’s warm kiss
Is too damn far from your fingertips
You are the man that ruined her world

Your heart’s on the loose
You rolled them seven’s with nothing to lose
This ain’t no place for the weary kind
