Guest Host

I am so grateful to Jim and to the others who offered to step in while I take a much-needed break. I am going to reblog his theme post, but please go to his site next week and until further notice for your SLS themes. I know others have offered, but Jim was the first one to offer and put up a post. Hopefully Jim will reach out if he needs more help going forward.

Thank you again for all the love, everyone. It is truly appreciated!

A Unique Title For Me

I am honored to take over as the guest host for SLS Helen Vahdati’s This Thing Called Life One Word at a Time Song Lyric Sunday, while she is recovering. It is late, so let’s get to the prompt which is “doctor/health/medicine”.  I am not sure how this will work, but if you create a pingback to this post, I will read your blog.  Feel free to suggest future prompts.

Goodbye for Now

Good morning and Happy Sunday everyone. I know many of you will be expecting to see an SLS theme post, and  I do apologize that this post didn’t go up a few days ago. That was the original plan, but as with everything to do with my blog lately, things just aren’t going as planned.

As many of you know, I’ve been struggling with some health issues for a few months now. All my tests keep coming up normal, so no one can really tell me why I’m having these symptoms, but they are truly affecting everything in my life. I still have a few more things to look into, but I’m not very hopeful that anything at all will be found, so I’m left thinking that perhaps this all has to do with stress. I have a very stressful day job and it makes any stress in my personal life that much more difficult to take on.

When I first started this blog, my day job was boring as hell, so it left me with time to write and enjoy this wonderful blogging experience. I never could have imagined how much my weekly SLS post would take off. I do thank all of you for making each Sunday so wonderful for so many years. This decision has not been an easy one.

I’ve decided to take a hiatus from my blog. When I first started it, my intention was to have it help me write every day and to put my name out there. I don’t think it’s serving that purpose right this moment, and I truly need any free (or in my case “well”) time to be spent writing. My blog right now, while a very good tool, is just a distraction and I need to figure out what I’m going to do with it in the future.

Thank you again, to all my amazing followers, especially those of you who have followed SLS every Sunday. I will truly miss our weekly song share, and I do hope there is something similar out there that you can all find to share your love of music. Perhaps one of my followers has more free time and can take on that project. I’m just unable to sustain it any longer.

I will miss you all and I’m so sorry this is the end of something that has been truly great. I hope you all understand that I feel its best for me and my life right now.

I wish you all the best and I hope to see you all very soon!

Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 12/30/18

Guys, I apologize for the lateness of the post. I’m still struggling with my health and I ended up getting sick this afternoon and completely spaced the theme post and that it was even Saturday! Luckily, I remembered in the nick of time (at least in my neck of the woods).

I’m not going to spend any more time rambling on about things, so let’s just get right to it. Let’s put on our thinking caps, break out our playlists and get to work!  Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is new.

As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt.  We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!

If you would like to suggest a theme, I am open to suggestions.   Please either pop it in the comments or send me an email at helenvahdati@yahoo.com.

Here are the “rules”:

  • Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
  • Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
  • Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
  • Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
  • Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
  • Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process

Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 12/23/18

My hubby and I decided to celebrate the season by watching sappy holiday movies today. I got so into it that I completely spaced my post today. At least I didn’t forget completely, though, and now I’m here to bring you another round of SLS, albeit a little late.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have a pre-planned theme, so I had to come up with one on the fly. Hopefully it won’t be too difficult for you to come up with with a song; although, you guys never seem to let me down. You always seem to come up with something no matter what the theme is.

With that short little intro, we’ll just get right to it. Let’s put on our thinking caps, break out our playlists and get to work!  Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is season.

As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt.  We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!

Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 12/16/18

I made a vow last year that this year I would be much more jolly, and you know what? Despite being sick and everything else going on right now, I’m actually doing it. We spent most of the day Christmas shopping and I’m all done except for my co-workers. I have no idea what to do for them, but I’m going to come up with something that isn’t food related. We still have a week left, and I think we’re all tired of all the extra food in the office.

I did fail at one thing. I was planning to bake, and it’s just not going to happen this year. I can’t even imagine standing in the kitchen for hours right now. Hopefully, next year I’ll be able to add that to my list of merry-making.

Anyway, let’s just get right to it, since you should already know what the theme is. Let’s put on our thinking caps, break out our playlists and get to work!  Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is girls.

As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt.  We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!

Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 12/9/18

This week was better than last week. I was, at least, able to make it to the day job every day. Unfortunately, I still have tests in my future. I’m just hoping that they’ll be able to find something so I can at least have a direction that helps me to get completely better.

I had lots of ideas swirling around in my head all week, but I never really landed on one for the SLS theme. It makes today super hard. It always seems to go by so much faster when I don’t have a plan. I do hope the one I settled on will be a fun one for you all to explore. I was trying to think of something that relates to the season, but not in an obvious way. Choosing this theme also gives me one for the next (as I’m sure you will guess).

Anyway, let’s just get right to it. Let’s put on our thinking caps, break out our playlists and get to work!  Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is boys.

As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt.  We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!

Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 12/2/18

Last week is almost a blur. I ended up getting sick the Sunday before Thanksgiving and I was sick up until yesterday. I went to the ER twice this week, and they still can’t really tell me what’s wrong; but they did give me some medication that seems to be working. I’m finally starting to feel like myself again, and it feels nice.

I hope that explains why I missed posting a song for my own prompt last week. I’ve felt bad about it ever since, but I just wasn’t up to posting anything on Sunday. The only reason I even posted a theme was because I know how much you guys love it and I just couldn’t let you down.

Hopefully, this means I’m back in more ways than just posting the theme. I’ve also really missed taking part in commenting and listening to your selections. I am so thankful you all love it so much that you visit each other’s blogs and really make this a blog-hop worth continuing.

With all of that, I think it’s time to just get right to it. Let’s put on our thinking caps, break out our playlists and get to work!  Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is last.

As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt.  We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!
