Song Lyric Sunday – Hollow by Breaking Benjamin

I’m feeling like a terrible host. I haven’t listened to all your entries in three weeks now! I know I always say it, but I really do mean it; I will catch up. One of these days I will also stay caught up for more than a week.

This song suits me just fine today. It makes me want to listen to the whole album and just drown in the grayness of it all. I think there are beautiful moments in the album, but I wouldn’t call it “happy”.

Anyway, I don’t have much else to say. I just hope you enjoy the song as much as I do!

Stay alive
Heaven holds a place for us tonight
I am paralyzed
Close your eyes
Drive away the cloud that hides the light
And leave the pain behind
Dead alive
Find a way to bury all the lies
Escape the pain inside
‘Cause I don’t want to fall
Or let you go
Love left me hollow
I’m with you in the end
Cold, crippled, and shallow
Don’t leave me here again
Fruit of life
I can hear the voices of the hive
Chemicals collide
Loaded smile
Light the way for those you left behind
Set the earth on fire
‘Cause I don’t want enough
I want it all
Love left me hollow
I’m with you in the end
Cold, crippled, and shallow
Don’t leave me here again
I can’t go on
You are bound to break me in
I come undone
Don’t you drag me down again
I’ve come undone!
Love left me hollow
I’m with you in the end
Cold, crippled, and shallow
Don’t leave me here again
I can’t go on
You are bound to break me in
I come undone
Don’t you drag me down again

Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 10/14/18

I’ve always loved fall, but in the past few years, I haven’t enjoyed it as much because I knew it was leading straight for the holidays, and I was boycotting them. This year, though, I’ve made a very concerted effort to change from a scrooge to an elf. Not that we’re quite there yet, but I did pick up a few fall decorations for the house today. I used to be all about decorating for every season and I’m hoping to get there eventually. For now, I will settle for a cute door sign, a table cloth and a fake pumpkin on my doorstep.

I was amazed last week at how many people got so excited about guessing the theme for this week. I didn’t think it would be all that hard, but it was a mystery until late on Sunday. If you’ve read through the comments, hopefully you’re prepared. If not, this is just like old times.

Without any further rambling from me, let’s just get right to it. Let’s put on our thinking caps, break out our playlists and get to work!  Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is hide/hiding/hidden.

As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt.  We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!

If you would like to suggest a theme, I am open to suggestions.   Please either pop it in the comments or send me an email at helenvahdati@yahoo.com.

Here are the “rules”:

Song Lyric Sunday – Waste by Seether

I know what you’re thinking. This is a pretty desolate song to post on my birthday, and I suppose it is, but I had a plan and I don’t really have time to think of another one. My hubby took me to the mountains for my birthday weekend, so I’m trying to set up all my posts while he’s sleeping so I don’t take away from our fun.

When I first heard this song and read the lyrics, I really gravitated towards the sadness and the despair, but now that I’m in a better place, I can look at this song in a different way. I think we all have times in our lives when we are at the bottom, so to speak, but there is a way to leave that life behind and start a brand new one. I should know; I’ve done it.

Seether is honestly one of my favorite bands and I pretty much love everything they do, so I hope you like this as much as I do, even though it feels like a downer.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Go unnoticed, let the freedom wash away.
Losing focus, the pretense is second nature.
It’s a broken life that I cling too,
Trying to make right.
I feel dismayed, just like you do.
I feel decayed..
So find me a way, to leave this wasted life behind me. (this wasted life)
So find me a way, to leave this wasted life behind me after all.
Yes, I see you surrounded by the hopeless.
When they need you you’re much to good and bloated,
By the hopeless life that you cling too.
Trying to make right.
I feel disdained, just like you do.
I feel decayed..
So find me a way, to leave this wasted life behind me. (this wasted life)
So find me a way, to leave this wasted life behind me after all.
Go away.. Go away..
And just leave me here.. Just leave me here.. Just leave me here..
So find me a way, to leave this wasted life behind me. (this wasted life)
So find me a way, to leave this wasted life behind me. (this wasted life)
This wasted life..
This wasted life..
This wasted life..

Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 10/7/18

I’m not one to normally point such things out, but since I typed that date up there, I just have to share. I’ve been doing this for two years now (has it really been that long?) and this is the first time SLS has landed on my birthday! You’d think I would be doing a theme based on that, but I stopped doing that a while ago (trying to come up with themes based on holidays or what’s going on the world).

Besides, I started a three week theme last week and didn’t really mention it. If you can figure it out after today and guess what next week’s theme will be, I will send you a virtual cookie!

I don’t have much else today, other than trying to stay warm (hello snow!), so we’re going to just get right to it. Let’s put on our thinking caps, break out our playlists and get to work!  Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is find/found.

One-Liner Wednesday – You Lose

My son was hanging out with me in the kitchen the other morning while I was eating, and as previously stated, I was playing a game. I ended up passing a level and this is what transpired:

Andru: You lose.

Me: No, I won. See?

Andru: No, you lose.

Me: I lost a few minutes of my life, maybe.

Andru: Every minute we live, we lose a minute of our lives.

This not so One-liner Wednesday is brought to us by Linda G. Hill.  Go check it out!  You won’t regret it.

Song Lyric Sunday – Find Me by Sigma

I feel like I’m on an emotional journey right now, and this song just speaks to me. I’m happy I remembered it because I was pretty stuck on what to use for this week’s theme. I suppose I wasn’t really stuck, I just didn’t really feel like spending a whole lot of time searching for one, and luckily, this song fits.

This song features the vocals of Birdy, which is why I felt like I recognized it when I first heard it.

Anyway, I hope you like it as much as I do.

Favorite line: If you’re searching for forever, I’ll be waiting, come find me

Happy Sunday, everyone.

We said goodbye, you told one so many times
We’ve made our peace
But this is love, I’ll never give you up
I know your love is come haunting me
Like a river always running
I keep losing you
Like a fire always burning
I’ll be here for you
If you’re ready, heart is open
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
If you’re searching for forever
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
I see you, here in the darkness
Blinding light right where your heart is
If you’re ready, heart is open
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
Come find me
Come find me
I see you, here in the darkness
Blinding light right where your heart is
If you’re ready, heart is open
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
We’ve lost our way that’s what you told me last
Tears, they come and go
This is us, I’ll never get enough
It’s taking losing you to know
If you’re ready, heart is open
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
If you’re searching for forever
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
I see you, here in the darkness
Blinding light right where your heart is
If you’re ready (if you’re ready), heart is open (heart is open)
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
Come find me
Come find me
I want to meet and never leave now
I want to meet and never leave now
I see you, here in the darkness
Blinding light right where your heart is
If you’re ready, heart is open
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
Come find me
If you’re ready (if you’re ready), heart is open (heart is open)
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
If you’re ready, heart is open
I’ll be waiting
Come find me

Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 9/30/18

I don’t know if I have any really great story to tell about the theme this week. I came up with it based on a task I was doing at the day job, to be honest. It all started on Thursday, which was a rough day. It seemed like no matter what I looked at, I couldn’t quite figure out how to handle it or what to do next. I left feeling like a huge failure and didn’t really want to go to work on Friday.

Thank goodness a full night’s sleep actually helps. Things went much more smoothly yesterday and I felt like everything was back on track. If I tried telling you about where the them came from, this whole post would get sideways pretty fast, so I’ll just leave it at that and we’ll just get right to it.

Let’s put on our thinking caps, break out our playlists and get to work!  Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is search.
