Song Lyric Sunday – Come One Come All by All Time Low

Since Wednesday, this post was always going to be about All Time Low, even if I had to post something of theirs that I’d never heard before.  Luckily, I was able to find a song that fit the theme.

I have my lovely daughter to thank for my infatuation with this band.  I can’t even tell you how many car rides were full of All Time Low and me and her singing at the top of our lungs.  I honestly thought our relationship would always be like that, but people change.  I was also under the impression that she tried hard not to remember those days (for whatever reason), but then she sent me the absolute perfect text on Wednesday night.  It was a video of her and her friends blasting All Time Low and singing at the top of their lungs.  The caption read, “missing u”.  I bawled my eyes out.

This song reminds me of those days when you couldn’t create music playlists on your phone and you were at the mercy of the DJ.  I remember calling the radio station over and over again, begging for my song!  There’s just something about hearing your song on the radio at just the perfect time.  It very rarely happened, but when it did, it was magical.

I think that music is therapeutic and I love doing this every week.  Thanks to all those who play along and make my Sundays so great.

I hope you enjoy some All Time Low!

Come one, come all you’re just in time
To witness my first breakdown
‘Cause there’s a mile gone for every minute passed
When I’m stuck in this town

I’ve got a bone to pick with you, Mr. DJ
The traffic in this town is just as bad as it is in L.A.

So go on and lock me up
You better throw away that key
Before I find out where you broadcast from
Because your playlist is killing me

I’ll change that station
Light it up like the 4th of July
It’s me, I’m caller fifteen
Time to play my last request

Come one, come all, you’re just in time
To witness my first breakdown
‘Cause there’s a mile gone for every minute passed
When I’m wasting space in this town
Don’t call the doctors, I don’t need no medication
I just need one more vacation and make it last

Hear me out please, judge and jury
I’m an innocent man
And it would be such a terrible injustice
To put me away without thinking about

All the terrible mistakes
That goddamn radio jockey makes
I swear, he’s out to get me
Oh, I swear he’s out to get me

I’ll change that station
Light it up like the 4th of July
It’s me, I’m caller fifteen
But it’s too late for explanations
This broadcast will be your last

Come one, come all, you’re just in time
To witness my first breakdown
‘Cause there’s a mile gone for every minute passed
When I’m wasting space in this town
Don’t call the doctors, I don’t need no medication
I just need one more vacation and make it last

Hear me out please, judge and jury
And I swear he’s out to get me
Oh, I swear he’s out to get me

Go on and lock me up
You better throw away that key
And I swear he’s out to get me
Oh, I swear he’s out to get me

I’ve got a bone to pick with you, Mr. DJ
You really oughta lock me up
Because your playlist is killing me

Come one, come all, you’re just in time
To witness my first breakdown
‘Cause there’s a mile gone for every minute passed
When I’m wasting space in this town
Don’t call the doctors, I don’t need no medication
I just need one more vacation and make it last

    • From what I saw yesterday, their first EP was released in 2005. I fell in love with albums from 2007-2009. I haven’t really listened to their new stuff but they are apparently still releasing new albums. I’ve only posted one other song of theirs but it was early days, probably before you started following. I really like them. 😊

  1. Oh, you just can’t beat the songs you sing at full volume with your kids! It’s cheesy classic movies for us at the moment – Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia and Wizard of Oz! This song is a bit cooler than that though, not heard it before but I liked it.

  3. This is all new to me, but sounds like the perfect kind of song to jam to with friends or kids in the car. I have sons, so our choices were much different, but I still remember when I could at least get away with singing the movie songs with them in the car (our favorite was “Hawaiian Roller-coaster Ride” from Lilo & Stich 2). Love this, thanks for sharing!

  4. It happened to me so many times, that I’d call the radio request line thing, and then listen all day, and they’d never play your song! I didn’t know someone had written a song about that, but I do like this one! 🙂

  5. I relived a memory or two for you last night and saw ATL in London….with my Son! I had that album and he never stopped playing it. He (we) have followed them ever since and he has now seen them twice….he is only 11!!! Hahaha! Make memories….and don’t forget the good times 🙂
