I don’t know why, but it seems like we all complain no matter what is happening with the weather. If it snows too much, it’s awful. If it’s over 100 degrees for more than a few days, we’re melting. If it rains too many days in a row, it’s depressing.
We’ve had a very slow start to winter where I’m at and all I’ve heard in the past few weeks is how people just want it to snow. Well, it finally happened. I’m staring out my window at piles of snow on houses and lawns and it is still coming down. As much as it is cold and awful to drive in, there is something so comforting about snow falling. I’m just happy it’s Saturday so I don’t have to really be anywhere and I can just enjoy it through my window pane.
It also doesn’t hurt that it’s time again to explore music. So, get your thinking caps on, break out your playlists and let’s get to work! Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is “comfort”.
As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt. We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!
I’m teaming up with Simply Marquessa and her LyricalFictionFriday theme was based on today’s SLS theme. Her posts go up on Thursday, so please check out her blog to delve into the world of music and fiction.
If you would like to suggest a theme, I am open to suggestions. Please either pop it in the comments or send me an email at helenvahdati@yahoo.com.
Here are the “rules”:
- Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
- Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
- Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
- Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
- Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
- Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process
Feel free to use the Song Lyric Sunday badge by copying it into your post or add it to your site to show you are participating.

This week’s prompt for the Song Lyric Sunday is “Comfort”.
The winter season means warm blankets, hot soups, casual crockpot meals…depending on the season, who you are and what you enjoy, it can mean different things. And there is a song in your collection that means “comfort” to you…
Please participate directly on This Thing Called Life One Word At A Time.
Comments will be turned off on this post.

I struggled with this theme and I even asked all of my family what song conveyed comfort to them, but nothing spoke to me. Then I thought about how much comfort I find with the man I chose to spend my life with, so I went back to the year we met and found this song. Savage Garden, “Truly Madly Deeply.”
Written by: Daniel Jones, Darren Hayes from Google.
I’ll be your dream, I’ll be your wish, I’ll be your fantasy.
I’ll be your hope, I’ll be your love, be everything that you need.
I love you more with every breath, truly madly deeply do
I will be strong, I will be faithful ’cause I’m counting on a new beginning.
A reason for living. A deeper meaning.
I want to stand with you on a mountain.
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever.
Until the sky falls down on me
And when the stars are shining brightly in the velvet sky,
I’ll make a wish send it to heaven then make you want to cry
The tears of joy for all the pleasure and the certainty.
That we’re surrounded by the comfort and protection of
The highest power, in lonely hours, the tears devour you
I want to stand with you on a mountain,
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever,
Until the sky falls down on me
Oh can you see it baby?
You don’t have to close your eyes
‘Cause it’s standing right before you.
All that you need will surely come
I’ll be your dream, I’ll be your wish, I’ll be your fantasy.
I’ll be your hope, I’ll be your love, be everything that you need.
I’ll love you more with every breath, truly madly deeply do
I want to stand with you on a mountain
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever.
Until the sky falls down on me
I want to stand with you on a mountain
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to live like this forever.
Until the sky falls down on me
