Song Lyric Sunday – Haven’t Met You Yet by Michael Buble

I was going in a different direction, but then I came across this song and I just had to post it.  I think it speaks perfectly to telling the future and just knowing that love is going to come along and it’s going to be perfect.  It’s almost like those pesky fairy tales I watched as a kid.  I blame them for my blind hope in love (not really).

The truth is, I don’t believe there is just one person out there and only one chance to get it right.  Relationships take a lot of hard work, but I also think they take a positive attitude and the belief that everything will be OK.  Maybe that sounds naive, but I’m OK with that.

I also think that Michael Buble on a Sunday morning is the perfect thing.  He is dreamy and his voice is killer.  I’m quite sure that I don’t post enough fun songs for Song Lyric Sunday, so I’m considering this one a treat, not only the lyrics, but the video as well.

I hope you enjoy!

I’m not surprised
Not everything lasts
I’ve broken my heart so many times I’ve stopped keepin’ track.
Talk myself in
I talk myself out
I get all worked up than I let myself down.

I tried so very hard not to lose it
I came up with a million excuses
I thought I thought of every possibility

And I know someday that it’ll all turn up
You’ll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid that I’ll give so much more than I get yeah
I just haven’t met you yet. Oh bop bop bop…

Oh I might have to wait
I’ll never give up
I guess it’s half timing and the other half’s luck
Wherever you are
Whenever it’s right
You’ll come out of nowhere and into my life
And I know that we can be so amazing
And baby your love is gonna change me
And now I can see every possibility mmm

And somehow I know that it’ll all turn up
And you’ll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid I’ll give so much more than I get m-m
I just haven’t met you yet

They say all’s fair
In love and war
But I won’t need to fight it
We’ll get it right it
We’ll be united

And I know that we can be so amazing
And being in your life is gonna change me
And now I can see every single possibility mmm

And someday I know it’ll all turn up
And I work to work it out
Promise you kid, I get more than I get
Than I get than I get than I get

Oh you know that will all turn out
And you’ll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid, to give so much more than I get
Yeah I just haven’t met you yet

Oh I just haven’t met you yet
Oh I promise you kid
To give so much more than I get
(I said love, love, love, love)
(love, love, love, love)
I just haven’t met you yet (love, love, love, love)
So doy day ay ay ay, ay ay yeah (love, love, love, love)
I just haven’t met you yet

  1. I find I’m at the opposite end of the spectrum right now – so burned out on relationships I don’t even care to think of being with anyone ever again. I guess I’m in the “better never to have loved at all” camp. Maybe it’s because I’m the more logical type and logic is often, admittedly, cold.

Nonetheless, this song is fun. Most of Michael Buble’s songs are. When I was into dance I had dance routines to a couple of his songs.

    • I can understand where you’re coming from. There was a time when I almost gave up, but I’m more emotional than logical and I’ve always held onto hope where love is concerned.

And yes, this song is just plain fun! πŸ˜‰
