Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 3/26/17

Hello everyone!  I really missed you all in my absence, but I want to throw a huge shout out to my sister for taking over for a few weeks, even though it was more daunting than she at first realized.  Thanks again, Sis!

I can’t say that everything is back to normal in my household, but at least my fiance’s surgery went well and he is finally out of the hospital.  Now, the healing can really begin.  The last time I posted, I didn’t know what my future would look like and I was really scared, but I’m happy to report that he is doing well and with the surgery, we are prolonging his life, hopefully by many, many years.

So, in the spirit of everything I’ve been through in the last few weeks, I thought I’d take my experience and throw that into the theme for this week.  I just hope it isn’t too difficult to find songs to fit, but you guys rock it each week, so I’m thinking you won’t have any problems with it.

Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday is to post a song about healing.

As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt.  We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!

If you would like to suggest a theme, I am open to suggestions.   Please either pop it in the comments or send me an email at redesp75@yahoo.com.

Here are the “rules”:

  • Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
  • Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
  • Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
  • Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
  • Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
  • Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process

Feel free to use the Song Lyric Sunday badge by copying it into your post or add it to your site to show you are participating.

  1. So glad you’re back and that things seemed to go about as well as they possibly could. Hopefully that demon will be buried for a long time coming.

Also, a very thoughtful, deep and broad topic. This should be interesting.

  7. Hmm. This is a difficult one and I’m not sure why. Maybe a lot of songs aren’t written about this. I may have to go a different direction, unconventional angle on what it means, healing. I’ve had to do a lot of it in my time, but all songs are about love, breakups, and more love and breakups.

  10. When I read the topic I smiled because I was thinking the same thing. As I’ve gotten older the meaning of healing has changed for me, so I chose a song that lately has gotten me through a lot of rough days when healing seemed a long way off. It reminds me of a quote from the Anne of Green Gables Movies, which says basically that tomorrow is a new day, with no mistakes in it. So glad Helen is back doing her thing. Love you sis.
“You’ll Be Okay.” A Great Big World
Written by Ian Axel, Chad Vaccarino. Lyrics at A to Z Lyrics

    You’ll be okay
    You’ll be okay
    The sun will rise
    To better days

    And change will come
    It’s on it’s way
    Just close your eyes
    And let it rain

    ‘Cause you’re never alone
    I will always be there
    You just carry on
    You will understand

    You’ll be okay
    You’ll be okay
    Just look inside
    You know the way

    Let it go
    Fly away
    And say goodbye
    To yesterday

    ‘Cause you’re never alone
And I will always be there
    You just carry on
    You will understand

    And I will be strong
    When love is gone
    I’ll carry on…

    You’ll be okay
    You’ll be okay
    The sun will rise
    To better days

    You’ll be okay
    You’ll be okay
    Just close your eyes
    And let it rain

When you need it the most
And all you’ve got is a prayer
    You must carry on
    You will understand
    You will understand
    You will understand

    You’ll be okay
    You’ll be okay
    You’ll be okay.

    • It actually feels good to be back in the swing of things. I think I’ve heard this song once, but it is really a beautiful song and it had so much meaning for me this week. I’ve talked a lot about when you were in the hospital this week and how you acted very similarly to Nader. You were both so calm and at peace while the rest of us were struggling with the life and death situation. I’m so grateful that my two favorite people are still here and everything is okay. I love you sis!
