Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 12/4/16

Is anyone else having a hard time believing it’s December?  I’m in shock, to be honest.  This year has flown by, and the next few days are shaping up to be big ones in our house.  In fact, this is the last time I will post the Song Lyric Sunday theme in the old house.  The next time I post one, I will be writing it while looking at completely different walls!

It’s just too weird to think about.  I’m so excited I can hardly contain it… but I also realize the amount of work that the next few days will require.  I’m just happy there is really great music to help make the move more enjoyable.

That leads me to our theme and how you all can help by sharing some amazing music!  I’ve decided that our theme for Song Lyric Sunday is to post a song about change.

As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt.  We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!

Also, if you would like to suggest a theme, I am open to suggestions.   Please either pop it in the comments or send me an email at

Here are the “rules”:

  • Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
  • Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
  • Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
  • Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
  • Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
  • Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process

Feel free to use the Song Lyric Sunday badge by copying it into your post or add it to your site to show you are participating.

  3. OOoh, I’ll have to think about this one. I hope to have some time tomorrow to post, but it looks like I’ll be cleaning and decorating, so I might not be around much.
Congrats on finally getting moved! I’m excited for you, Helen! 😀 ❤

  6. So I read the prompt to my family and we had a song in about twenty minutes of back and forth. The Moody Blues “Days of Future Past” album came to mind as well as “The Wall,” by Pink Floyd(Not really sure about that one though.) Even Black Sabbath has a song called “Changes.” In the end we decided to go with the Beatles, “Revolution,” because you can never go wrong with a Beatles song. My son wanted to do Rush’s “Countdown,” about the first shuttle launch, but we are going with the majority on this one. I had never really listened to the lyrics, but they seem rather fitting for the times we are in today. Thanks Helen for one more thing we can do together as a family, we love it and look forward to it every week!!!

Lyrics by John Lennon, Paul Mccartney from Google Play Music

You say you want a revolution
    Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it’s evolution
    Well, you know
We all want to change the world

But when you talk about destruction
Don’t you know that you can count me out
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right

You say you got a real solution
    Well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
    Well, you know
    We’re doing what we can

But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right

You say you’ll change the constitution
    Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
    Well, you know
You better free you mind instead

But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
    All right, all right
