Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 9/18/16

I can’t believe it’s another Saturday again.  The great thing about this Saturday, though, is that we finally found a house, AND our townhouse went under contract after only 3 days on the market.  Now, we just have the inspections, appraisals and the closings, which means we’ll be moving around mid-October!  I can’t believe it finally happened, but we couldn’t be more happy.

Even with all the craziness, I still managed to make it to a concert.  I ended up taking Andru, which means I have now taken all of my kids to a concert.  I know I’ve already sort-of done this theme, but it wasn’t an official theme, so I’m going ahead with it.

Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday is to post a song from a band you recently saw in concert.  If you don’t go to concerts or haven’t been to one in a while, feel free to post a song that you would love to hear live.

As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt.  We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!

Also, if you would like to suggest a theme, I am open to suggestions.   Please either pop it in the comments or send me an email at

Here are the “rules”:

  • Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
  • Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
  • Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
  • Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
  • Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
  • Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process

Feel free to use the Song Lyric Sunday badge by copying it into your post or add it to your site to show you are participating.

  5. I’ve only been to a few concerts, but if I had the chance, I would go back in time and see Queen live. I love their music and it is so much fun to watch Freddie Mercury, to see what he is going to do. I chose my favorite Queen song, and because of that it is also my sister’s ring tone…and no I am not implying anything.

Written by Brian May lyrics from Google Play Music

Are you gonna take me home tonight?
Ah down beside that red firelight
Are you gonna let it all hang out?
    Fat bottomed girls
You make the rockin’ world go round

Hey I was just a skinny lad
Never knew no good from bad
But I knew life before I left my nursery, huh
Left alone with big fat Fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Heap big woman you made a bad boy out of me
    Hey hey!

I’ve been singing with my band
Across the wire across the land
I seen every blue eyed floozy on the way, hey
But their beauty and their style
Went kind of smooth after a while
Take me to them dirty ladies every time

Oh won’t you take me home tonight?
Oh down beside your red firelight
Oh and you give it all you got
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin’ world go round
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin’ world go round

    Hey listen here
Now I got mortgages on homes
I got stiffness in ma’ bones
Ain’t no beauty Queens in this locality (I tell you)
Oh but I still get my pleasure
    Still get my greatest treasure
Heap big woman you gonna make a big man out of me

    Now get this
Oh (I know) you gonna take me home tonight (Please)
Oh down beside that red firelight
Are you gonna let it all hang out?
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin’ world go round yeah
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin’ world go round

Get on your bikes and ride
Ooh yeah oh yeah them fat bottomed girls
    Fat bottomed girls
    Yeah yeah yeah
    Alright, ride ’em, c’mon
    Fat bottomed girls, yes yes

  6. I decided to make a request of you. Would you consider using the blues as your prompt sometime? if you haven’t already done that, that is. I have a blues song I’d like to share. I know I can use it anytime instead of the prompt but I’d rather stay with your theme. If that doesn’t fit for you then no worries!

I was out of town this weekend so am going to put up my response to this week’s prompt soon even though it is not Sunday. (It happens to be blues too, but isn’t the one that is behind my request.)
