Is it lack of concentration that leads to one taking almost a whole week off from blogging? Maybe… but I’m thinking it could also be too much concentration on one thing that leads to everything else just falling away.
I’m happy to say that I am feeling much better this morning and I’m even thinking of all the things I want to do rather than the burdensome, “Oh god, I have to write my blog today.” If it isn’t fun, why the hell was I even bothering?
The one thing I will say is that taking time off from writing leads to rust. The mind starts to go silent and thoughts seem to bury themselves deeper into the psyche and seem to only rear their heads in the dead of night during sound sleep. The upside is that I’ve been sleeping very soundly this week. The downside is that my dreams have been very vivid, if that’s a downside? Some would say the best ideas come across that way.
The crazy thing about being so focused on one thing (or two) is that life happens around you anyway… I couldn’t seem to escape from life and everything that is happening this week. I’m with Linda – the media drives me crazy with their constant coverage and annoying dialogue on tragic events. It’s all just so sad on so many levels. I’m of the opinion that violence begets violence and somehow, some way, we just need to stop the violence. It needs to start somewhere, but it seems that no one is willing to make that step.
But I don’t want to delve too deeply into it. This isn’t a political blog by any means and there’s so much concentration on it all right now that I don’t need to add to it.
I’m happy to be back; I love this community so much and I appreciate all the support and love I receive. I hope you have all been well while I’ve been away on my tiny break.
I hope you all have a lovely Saturday!
