Friday Fictioneers – Trapped

She’s been sitting at the window for hours staring at the rolling hills and swaying trees.  She watched as the light began to fade and the first snow fell, and as the snow fell heavier, the wind picked up.  Soon, it slanted sideways and pelted the window until the window was completely covered in frozen gray clumps.

The view is gone, but still she sits, staring.

She’s already tried wrestling with the bindings on her wrists and feet, but it didn’t take long to realize it was no use.

She sees her reflection in the window and watches as a tear slowly falls from her too-wide eyes.


Friday Fictioneers is a weekly flash fiction prompt where we are given a photo and asked to write a 100 word story – beginning, middle and end.  This one came in at 107 words.
