Song Lyric Sunday – Lost Stars by Adam Levine

My fiance and I watched a movie last weekend on Netflix.  I don’t think I’m alone in feeling that Netflix can be risky.  You can find some diamonds in there, but mostly you find a lot of really bad movies.  We tend to stick to horror, which is especially flooded with crap; but everyone once in a while, we end up finding a movie that is pretty damn good.

We ended up watching the movie Begin Again.  It was such a fantastic movie.  I would highly recommend it, especially if you love music.  There is some fantastic acting in it, but sadly Adam Levine wasn’t one of them.  His acting was mediocre, at best, but he played a musician, which probably saved him, at least for me.  The other actors were lovable and amazing and I especially loved that Keira Knightly sang her own songs.  I meant to listen to the soundtrack this week, but I didn’t end up doing it.  However, the movie inspired my Song Lyric Sunday pick this week.

The lyrics to this song are breathtaking.  I cried when I first heard it and it gives me chills every time I listen to it.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

My suggestion for this week is to pick a song that you love from a movie.  I hope that gives you lots of options, but as always, you are welcome to do your own thing and just share music.

Lost Stars by Adam Levine

Lyrics found at AZ Lyrics

Please don’t see
Just a boy caught up in dreams and fantasies
Please see me
Reaching out for someone I can’t see

Take my hand, let’s see where we wake up tomorrow
Best laid plans sometimes are just a one night stand
I’ll be damned, Cupid’s demanding back his arrow
So let’s get drunk on our tears

And God, tell us the reason youth is wasted on the young
It’s hunting season and the lambs are on the run
Searching for meaning
But are we all lost stars trying to light up the dark?

Who are we?
Just a speck of dust within the galaxy?
Woe is me
If we’re not careful turns into reality

But don’t you dare let our best memories bring you sorrow
Yesterday I saw a lion kiss a deer
Turn the page, maybe we’ll find a brand new ending
Where we’re dancing in our tears

And God, tell us the reason youth is wasted on the young
It’s hunting season and the lambs are on the run
Searching for meaning
But are we all lost stars trying to light up the dark?

And I thought I saw you out there crying
And I thought I heard you call my name
And I thought I heard you out there crying
Just the same

And God, give us the reason youth is wasted on the young
It’s hunting season and this lamb is on the run
Searching for meaning
But are we all lost stars trying to light … light up the dark?

And I thought I saw you out there crying
And I thought I heard you call my name
And I thought I heard you out there crying
But are we all lost stars trying to light up the dark?
Are we all lost stars trying to light up the dark?
