Friday Fictioneers – The Writer

I thought coming here would help me write, but the opposite has happened.  The only thing I hear is white noise – no voices crying for their place on the page; no worlds forming in my head.  I write something down, only to scratch it out two minutes later.

The day is gray, dreary; the kind of day that used to lend itself well to my creations, but not anymore.  Throwing the pen on the desk, I haul myself up and grab my pack.  Enough is enough.

If I can’t create worlds in my head, I’m sure as hell going to explore the one right in front of me.

Friday Fictioneers is a weekly flash fiction prompt where we are given a photo and asked to write a 100 word story – beginning, middle and end.  This one came in at 109 words.  I’m just happy it happened at all.  I literally almost gave up, but something magical happened when I decided to write about what I was going through right his moment!  I hope you enjoy!
