Friday Fictioneers – The Traveler

It’s so noisy, he thought as he sat on a bench on the side of the street. Everyone here is always in such an all-fired hurry! If only I’d known

He watched as one of the time’s monstrosities pulled a trailer carrying a 1910 Model-T Ford down the road. His eyes locked onto it as his breath caught in his throat. My car!

Standing up, he settled his hat on his head and made his way back to his make-shift workshop. He knew he could never resign himself to stay. It was time to find a way back.

Friday Fictioneers is a weekly flash fiction prompt where we are given a photo and asked to write a 100 word story – beginning, middle and end. This one came in at 98 words. I’m just going to say that I have no idea if that is a picture of a Model-T Ford.  I don’t know cars, although I did try to look up images online, and it sort of looked like one…

  1. I don’t know if it’s a Model-T or not either, but I get the point. I assume from the text that he’s a time traveler, of been asleep for 100 years like Rip Van Winkle. He’s right about one thing, people certainly are impatient in this day and age. They miss a lot of life’s beauty by being in such a hurry.
