As promised, I am offering a quote from the final Trilogy by Jacqueline Carey – Naamah’s Kiss (Book #1), Naamah’s Curse (Book #2) and Naamah’s Blessing (Book #3) – which follows Moirin who is a direct descendant of a character in the first six books. For not having any of the original characters in it, I almost liked this trilogy better than the first two.
There’s something about the magic and the place Moirin is from that spoke to me. I also enjoyed the mysticism and ideology in these three books. There is a Master, Training and so much travel. Oh, and did I mention dragons?
It is definitely a series worth reading.
Once again, I am without the actual books, so I chose a quote from Goodreads. I know this one is more than two sentences, but I believe it’s worth it. I hope you enjoy!
“What you are witnessing is the face of war a great ruler seldom sees, my lady,” Master Lo Feng said to her. Her veiled face turned his way, listening. “No matter how righteous the cause, no matter who wins, the commonfolk suffer. Without plenty, the wealthy lack compassion for the poor, hoarding without sharing. Without law, the strong bully the weak, stealing by force. People will go hungry. Some will starve. Men and women will be forced to choose between feeding their parents and their children.”
