They met in college. Partnered together in a dance class, he knew right away; but she was shy and shattered from a childhood of broken dreams.

He asked her on a date, and to her amazement, she said yes.

He waited patiently, but finally asked her to marry him, in spite of her reluctance and her family’s disdain.

She was astonished when she said yes once again.

The years flashed by as her doubts slowly faded in the strength of his conviction.

Nineteen years later…

Their love has blossomed – a bright flower stretching to eternity.

Friday Fictioneers is a weekly flash fiction prompt where we are given a photo and asked to write a 100 word story – beginning, middle and end. This one came in at 96 words. I also combined Love Is In Da Blog hosted by Bee at Just Fooling Around with Bee. I didn’t follow the prompt today, but I did write about love. It’s actually based on a true story, one of my favorite love stories – my sister and her husband. I may have taken some liberties with the story, but I’m thinking I got it about right. I hope you enjoy!
