Song Lyric Sunday – 100 Years by Five For Fighting

I have my sister to thank for this weeks choice. I was at her house all afternoon and they constantly have music playing. Most of the time it’s her husband’s music, but every once in a while, some of her stuff will play. This particular song came on and my first comment was, “I love this song!”

Sometimes years can go by without hearing a song, but then it comes on the radio or you hear it at a friend’s house and it’s like coming home. I also think the lyrics are rather fitting with the new baby in my life and the realization that time flies by so fast. There’s no way to hold on to it, so the best thing we can do is enjoy ever single moment to it’s fullest.

I watched the video, and I’m not going to lie… it made me cry.

I hope you enjoy this week’s Song Lyric Sunday. Feel free to read the “rules” below and join in with one of your own.

100 Years by Five For Fighting
Lyrics found at AZ Lyrics

I’m 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I’m just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

I’m 22 for a moment
And she feels better than ever
And we’re on fire
Making our way back from Mars

15 there’s still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live

I’m 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I’m a “they”
A kid on the way, babe.
A family on my mind

I’m 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I’m heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life

15 there’s still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose yourself
Within a morning star

15 I’m all right with you
15, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live

Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We’re moving on…

I’m 99 for a moment
And dying for just another moment
And I’m just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

15 there’s still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you’re on your way
Every day’s a new day…

15 there’s still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live

  3. Helen this is the most beautiful of song the lyrics are so relevant to me but especially now as my mother in law of 95yrs has just been told her lymphoma has returned after 10yrs. She has lived her life to the full cruises, holidays right up to last year ….. she is just recovering from a mini stroke and fit. She spoke to the oncologist and said if she could she’d like treatment as in her words she wants more years………………… I am weeping but thank you I just listening over and over.
