OctPoWriMo – Strangers No More

Strangers No More
Inspired by this scene from the movie August Rush

Searching for a sense of self
In music
Flowing from fingertips
Tense with frustration
Am I alone?
Will reality ever reflect my truth?
A chance meeting with a stranger
Caution drips from unspoken words
A hesitant connection found
Through music
Creating sounds together in joyful abandon
Hearts share a knowing that
Blazes from similar eyes
An indelible link binds with
The interconnectedness of all things
Strangers meet and walk away
Strangers no more

Today’s prompt for OctPoWriMo was to watch your favorite scene in a movie or a music video and let it inspire a poem. My very first thought was a movie I fell in love with many years ago because it is based around music and the unseen connections people have. August Rush will always be one of my favorite movies. I hope the poem translates with or without the video clip.
