I see absolutely everything. I see you in the bushes with your bow and arrow cocked. I hear you laughing with your friends, planning my demise – a trophy on your wall.
When did you change so drastically?
When did you forget?
You used to worship our sacrifice in grateful supplication. You used to understand that I give my life in sacrifice and love for you, but you no longer see the way things are. You no longer see that we all come from the same place, inextricably linked in an ever evolving circle of life.
I can’t claim to know the outcome of this perpetual standoff, but I wait deep in the bushes, heart palpitating in my chest, tension gripping my body. Peace is an elusive thing, but I believe things are as they should be, no matter the outcome.
