Happy Blogoversary

I wanted to take some time out of my challenges, writing, and busy work days to note that I have officially been blogging for a year. It’s not something WordPress and I agree on because I opened up my account about 3 years before I actually wrote my first post. In fact, I received a notice a few months back about a three or four year anniversary or something, but I just ignored it.

My real anniversary is May 14, 2015 when I posted for the very first time. It was one of the scarier things I’ve done in my life and to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t expecting a whole lot. I just wanted a place to write and post stories and try to do this thing called writing.

Little did I know that within a year I would have over 300 followers! I’m amazed every day when I receive a notice that someone else found something worth following on my blog. I want to say a huge thank you to every single one of my followers and this amazing community. I’ve met so many beautiful people and have received such amazing support along the way.

This whole blogging thing can be very overwhelming and I’ve had times in the last year when I didn’t post much, but I have never wanted to stop or give up. No matter how hectic my life becomes, this is still the place I come to spew my personal creativity and fill my soul with other creative voices.

I’ve learned so much, not just from my own process, but from reading other posts and following other blogs. I wish there was time in a day to read every single post of every single blog I follow, but it is no longer possible; not just because I am busier in my day job, but I’ve clicked the “follow” button so many times, I don’t think I could read everything that hits my reader in one day even if I tried. I do what I can and comment when I’m inspired. I appreciate all of you for doing the same.

Thanks again to all those who have supported me along the way and continue to read and give feedback. I think everyone should do something they love, even if it’s just a small thing every day. It has given a meaning to my life I was lacking a year ago and I’m so grateful to all those who inspired me to start this blog and pushed me to keep writing.

Here’s to another year and maybe another after that.
