#frapalymo – Silence

Shouts of joy echo
in the first
light of morning
even as huddled masses
nullify the sound. How
can we celebrate with the terrible weight of
each precious life lost…

#frapalymo is hosted by @FrauPalchen and is translated by Bee on her blog The Bee writes. Today’s prompt was “silence” in honor of May 8, 1945, the end of the war in Europe. (Updated after my sister kindly pointed out my error)

  1. I love this poem, but the historian in me has to say that today marks the end to the war in Europe. WW II ended in August of 1945. Thanks for taking part in this, I am really enjoying reading your poems.
